Obituary of Lawrence W. Johnson
Lawrence W. "Larry" Johnson, 64, lifelong resident of Duluth, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2016, in the Essentia Health Care Center, surrounded by his loving family.
Larry graduated from Denfeld High School in 1970. He went on to a lifelong career with the DM&IR Railroad.
Larry enjoyed hunting and fishing, and passed that passion on to his three sons. After retirement, he purchased a summer lake home in Solon Springs, where he and his wife, Beth loved watching their sons pass on those passions to their grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Johnson; mother, Helen Johnson-Zywicki; and brother, Paul Johnson.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Beth; his children, Trista (Steve) Roseen, Kyle Johnson, Kevin (Kaylee) Johnson and Cory (Kaitlyn) Johnson; six grandbabies; siblings, Dave (Patti) Johnson, Tim (Keri) Johnson and Chrissy "Sistine" (Dave) Kolles; many nieces and nephews.
His unfiltered sarcasm or "Larry-isms" will be missed by all who knew him.
A special thank you goes out to Deputy Cindy Hunter, the Solon Springs and Gordon Paramedics and the Essentia Health Care Team.
