Obituary of Marlys Mildred Thiede

Marlys Mildred Thiede (Madtson) Aged 92 passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on November 17, 2024, in Burnsville, Minnesota.

She was born on June 17, 1932, in Minneapolis, MN.

Marlys was preceded in death by her husband Robert B. Thiede, parents Marvin Madtson and Mildred Emily Madtson (Spiess), daughter Kathleen Marie Busby (Saxum) and grandson Michael Busby.

Marlys is survived by her children Connie Marie Schreier (Robert), Laura Ann Gordon (Ed), Walter John Saxum JR (Laura), Jayne Ann Heitz (David), 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, 2 sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marlys enjoyed cooking, canning, crocheting, playing cards, bingo, camping with family, jigsaw puzzles, singing in the church choir, and spending time with her family.  She lived in Minnesota, California, Oregon and Texas.

Service and Interment - Willamette National Cemetry (Portland, OR) - June 17, 2025.
