Obituary of Kathryn Marie Curtis

Kathryn Marie Curtis (Bjerre), long time resident of Bloomington, MN born March 3, 1944 in Minneapolis, passed away unexpectedly at Sunrise Senior Living in Edina, MN on November 12, 2024.  Preceded in death by mother E. Caryl Curtis, husband William F. Curtis, Jr.  Survived by daughter Chris Curtis, son Mike Curtis (Dawn VanHorn), stepdaughter Nancy (Bruce) Peterson, grandsons Derek and Dru Peterson, Goddaughter/niece Juli (Mark) Gempler, brother in-law Brian (Sid) Curtis and many other beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Kathryn enjoyed an adventurous life that included time spent on their boat on the Mississippi River, travelling with her husband and friends, her career years, entertaining poolside or for the holidays. Kathryn didn't do anything halfway. She took pride in her home, and everyone was always welcome.  Kathryn could often be found in her craft room "whipping" up something special - she was very creative and talented.  She enjoyed her yard gardening and the woodland creatures and birds that frequented.  She adored her various pets.  Kathryn lived her life with contemplation of others and was selfless.  Her motto in life was "Be kind, you never know what someone is going through".  She was a good friend as evidenced by her many lifelong friends and when Kathryn moved to Sunrise Senior Living, she quickly made more friends with residents and staff in this new chapter of her life.  She loved her children and family without measure. She will forever remain in our hearts and memories; she touched so many lives in so many ways.
