Obituary of Barbara Andersen

A time to be born: Dec 28, 1924. A time to die: April 19, 2016. Barbara was born and raised in Flint, Michigan. Preceded in death by parents, Ernest and Ethel and brothers Ward and Nels. Survived by sister, Mary Alice Wisniewski and sister-in-law Judith Andersen and nieces and nephews who were a blessing to her life. Her life was enriched by countless friends. Barbara taught for forty-seven years at schools in New York, Illinois, and Minnesota, the last twenty six years at Augsburg College in Minneapolis. In addition to her passion for teaching, she liked running, hiking, walking, reading, spoiling her cats, talking with friends and listening to blue grass and classic country. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 7110 France Ave S, Edina. 952-924-4100. In remembrance of her life, Barbara asked that friends take a walk at Westwood Nature Center in St Louis Park. In lieu of memorials, she requests a random act of kindness in her honor.
