Obituary of Barbara Ann Paquin
Barbara was a Red Lake member, a fluent speaker of Ojibwemowin, and a Bemidji high school graduate with some college experience.
She started as a cook at an all-girls camp, she was a homemaker and had various jobs, like being a dental assistant. She was a go-getter throughout her work and life but retired many years at US West, where she co-founded Voice of Many Feathers.
She liked bird watching, and in her retirement, she also enjoyed casinos, bingo, and playing the state lottery. She loved going on country drives, visiting new places, and being outdoors. She often cooked and baked treats for her family.
Barbara was fun-loving, she had a friendly and kind disposition, she showed generosity by overseeing and caring for her family throughout her life, and cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She always lived by her religious beliefs in addition to her Ojibwe traditions.
Preceded by her parents, Ernest and Angeline Northbird; husband David Sr.; siblings Ron, Diane, and Gary; her son Greg; and great-grandson Lennoxander.
