Obituary of Jeffrey Cepek
Jeffrey Arthur Cepek, 65, was born on August 10, 1959, in Chicago, IL to parents Eleanore Suranne (Stylen) and Arthur Cepek. Jeff passed away at Little Hospice, Edina MN, surrounded by family on November 16, 2024, after a well-fought battle with cancer.
Jeff was a dedicated and hard worker who held managerial positions throughout the years. He will be remembered for his love of family, traveling, photography, and music. Jeff was a loving and proud father to his three children. He enjoyed conversations and adventures with his kids, be it car shows, concerts, or just dinners to catch up. Jeff's greatest passion was traveling and exploring the national parks, especially Yosemite. To quote one of Jeff's favorite authors, John Muir, “the mountains are calling and I must go.” Jeff often heard the call of Yosemite and would pack up and go explore all of its wonders — working and living in the park on several occasions over the years. Nothing made Jeff happier than the trips with his children when he got to share his love of Yosemite and its beauty with them.
Jeff is preceded in death by his father Art Cepek, and step-father Norm Suranne.
He is survived by his loving family: Mother Eleanore Suranne; Children: Ellen Gunderson (Matthew Busch), Megan Cepek (Kyle Sletner), Randy Cepek; Grandsons: Ethan Gunderson (Deziree Johnson), Carter Gunderson (Avery Larrabee), Great Granddaughter: Sara Gunderson; His sisters: Karyn Cepek (Jeff Evenson), Gretchen Cepek (Wade Kram). Nieces and Nephews, Jack Evenson, Sarah Evenson, Christian Kram, Claire-Marie Kram, and Avalene Kram; plus, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Jeff's family will deeply miss him here with us but know that he is on the most incredible nature walk of them all.
The family will have a small private service for Jeff at a later date. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to:
