Obituary of Sharon Annette Parpart
Sharon Annette Parpart (formerly Ashton; née Simpson), aged 76, passed away on November 4, 2024, in Gaylord, Minnesota. Born on September 13, 1948, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, Sharon carried the warmth of her birthplace throughout her life, touching many with her compassion, fiercely strong spirit, and, often, her feisty sense of humor.
Sharon spent her career working in foundries until her well-deserved retirement, demonstrating a strong work ethic and dedication. Her education began in her hometown of Jeffersonville, where she attended high school and laid the foundation for her future endeavors.
A woman of diverse interests, Sharon was passionate about horseback riding, painting, poetry, singing, and music. Above all, her greatest joy was loving her family, a testament to her warm and nurturing nature.
Sharon held her Native American spiritual beliefs close to her heart, finding solace and strength in her community and practices.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Alice Simpson, and her siblings, William E. Vest, Virginia M. Bowman, Donald L. Vest, Emma J. Vest, Richard E. Vest, Leonard A. Vest, Leroy Vest, Barbara A. Peacock, Wilma R. Vest, and Marion L. Vest.
She is survived by her children - Joseph D. Ashton (Leah), and Alisha R. Berding (Darrell); grandchildren - Sheri L. Loewy (Nathan), Crystopher “Michael” Berding (Emily), Joseph P. Ashton, Tara A. Ashton, Brandon J. Ashton, Krista N. Castle, Ashley Perkins, and Donna J. Perkins; great grandchildren - Jett Loewy, Hannah Berding, Liam Berding, Sadie Loewy, Lucy Berding, Kaydence Loewy, Braeden Ashton, Braeden Sea, Stanley Sea, Devonte McConico, and Markis Townsend Jr.; and countless extended loved ones, each holding a special place in her heart.
Memorial services for Sharon will be arranged and communicated at a later date.
Sharon’s legacy will be cherished by all who knew her, as she lived a life full of passion, creativity, and love. Her presence will be sorely missed but fondly remembered through the many lives she touched.
