I came to know Susan when she was teaching at Niwot High School in Colorado. Susan served on the leadership group of the St. Vrain Valley Education Association, a large teachers union in Longmont, Colorado, and was a standout leader: knowledgeable, influential, and a wonderful speaker and writer. For many years after that, Susan and I stayed connected through letters, calls, and visits. I enjoyed my time with Susan and Dick in St. Paul — and I will never forget my friend Susan and the joy she brought to my life.

I met Susan through College Inside Track. Immediately, my parents and I formed a wonderful relationship with her. I remember her bright smile, and laugh. She recommended looking into applying to St. Olaf College. Today, I am a junior at St. Olaf College, and couldn't be happier; her recommendation has changed my life, and for that I will be forever thankful. I am so sorry for your loss - Susan was a wonderful woman, and I will remember her constant encouragement and enthusiasm.
