Obituary of Ronald Eugene Packingham

Ronald Eugene Packingham, 80, of Duluth, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2018, at home. Ronald was born on June 27, 1937 in Davenport, IA to Gilma and Ronayne Packingham. He attended Duluth Central High School until enlisting in the NAVY. He retired from Lake Superior College as a custodian. Ron was an accomplished artist, whether in paintings, wood sculptures or pencil drawings and portraits. In his younger years Ron played the steel guitar in a local country western band. Most people will remember Ron for his love of a good joke and his penchant for storytelling. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; twin brother, Donald; son, Michael and an infant son. Ronald is survived by his son, Scott (Ann) of Las Vegas, NV; granddaughters, Michelle and Kelsey; brothers, Wayne, Gordon (Sharon), Richard (Judith), Ronayne (Nora); and several nieces and nephews. Visitation: 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. service, Friday, June 22, 2018 at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave, in Duluth.
