Obituary of Shelley Reinhardt
Reinhardt (Will) Shelley
“Grandma Marley/Gia”
On October 28, 2024 at 12:45 p.m. heaven gained an angel; leaving a sea of people here on earth devastated and heartbroken. Shelley was an example of a life well-lived, however, much too short. She battled colorectal cancer for 54 months and endured 73 rounds of chemotherapy, however she never let that define her life. She grew up in North Saint Paul and worked for the local telephone company for 42 years. She adored her three children and six grandchildren and would do anything for them. She loved, appreciated and enjoyed many wonderful times with her devoted partner Tom. Her family and friends meant everything to her and she kept a special place in her heart for each one of them. Shelley had the unique ability to meet people wherever she went and instantly create lifelong friendships. She always carried a bag of candy in her “Mary Poppins” purse and would pass treats and treasures out wherever she went. She was unselfish and always put others first. She lived by the idea “you can’t get the time back” so she pushed herself to accomplish many things, even during her hardest days. She was an expert worrier, fabulous party planner, the life of the party and most of all a professional shopper; either online or brick and mortar - always looking for a good bargain; usually for others. She enjoyed the holidays and changing seasons. She decorated her home inside and out throughout the year to celebrate. She loved to vacation with her family and could be found in her favorite chair in Cozumel and her “happy place” at a lakeside resort near Deerwood MN. Shelley is preceded in death by her parents, Al and Joan Will. She is survived by her loving partner, Tom Montroy, her children who were precious to her; Andy (Shannon), Abbie (Jimmy), Al (Krisi)) and her grandchildren who were her biggest treasures, Ellie, Michael, Lauren, Megan, Mikayla, and Wyatt. Her dear sister, Lisa (Bob), brothers Jeff, and Kurt (Lynn) and lifelong and dearest friend, Shelley Palmquist. Also left to mourn are Tom’s brother John and sister Maureen, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, godchildren and many cherished friends; and of course we can’t forget her 80 pound lap dog, Hank. A special thank you to Doctor Cheema and the St. John’s Cancer Center and the medical staff at St. John’s Hospital; their care and kindness were exceptional. We truly lost a very special woman and a true warrior.
“How lucky are we to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.”
