Obituary of Helen Jane Madden

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Helen Jane Stoffer Madden, who peacefully departed this life on October 30, 2024 at the age of 92. Beloved by all who knew her, Helen lived a life filled with love, warmth, and humor that touched the lives of many.

Born on July 21, 1932 in Minneapolis, Helen was a remarkable woman of beauty, strength, and grace. She graduated from Robbinsdale High School where she was Homecoming Queen. Helen was Miss Golden Valley in 1950, and had the honor of being crowned Aquatennial Queen in 1951. A true lover of parades and community celebrations, Helen went on to spend a great deal of her working life in Senior Communities, bringing joy to others through activities, food, and conversations. She will forever be remembered as ‘the hostess with the mostest’, always gracious, kind, and thinking of others. Her love of gift giving, holidays with family, traditions, and corny jokes will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Helen was preceeded in death by her former husband, Dennis Madden. A devoted mother, Helen is survived by her four children, Michael (Sue) Madden, Mary Hart (Bill) Bierbower, Maureen Madden, and Colonel Mark (Karis) Madden. Helen was a loving grandmother to eight grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren, as well as a cherished aunt to many loving nieces and nephews.
