Obituary of Michael Florian Hafner
Michael Florian Hafner, age 90, of Brooklyn Park, left this earth peacefully on Oct. 24, 2024. Born in St. Paul to Michael & Frances Hafner. He was a Navy veteran, a union electrician and an avid fisherman. Mike always had a joke to tell to everyone he met. Preceded in death by his parents, his brother Bill Hafner and brother-in-law Bob Hammer. Mike will be deeply missed by his wife, Elaine, and his children, Michael J. Hafner, Peggy (Dick) Nasby, Patrick (Bea) Hafner, Christine (Sid) Hafner and stepchildren, Jeff (Dee) Kaitchuck, Dale Kaitchuck and Kari (Mike) O'Connor, as well as his beloved sisters, Lu Hammer and Mary Ann (Don) Pojar, and sister-in-law Gloria Hafner. He was a loving grandpa to Kian, Heidi, Justin, Shani, Ken, Simon & Mariah. He has great-grandkids, nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends too numerous to list. A celebration of Mike's life will be held on Friday, November 15 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 7217 W Broadway, Brooklyn Park, MN. Visitation 10am, service at 11am, followed by lunch. The family encourages memorials to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's research in Mike's honor.
