Obituary of Jessica A (Kunz.) Brandt

It is with extreme sadness we share the unexpected passing of beautiful Jessica Ann Brandt who died on October 8th, 2024 surrounded by family. She was 47 years young. Jess was a mother, daughter, sibling, sister-in-law, auntie, niece, and friend to many.

Born Jessica Ann Kunz on July 31^st, 1977, she was the third daughter and youngest of '5 Js' (Jess' term). Jess was a warrior princess since birth having been born with a hole in her heart. She had a quick wit and one of the funniest senses of humor around. Her beautiful smile and an enormous laugh drew attention in any room. She was a passionate and proud mother living in Prior Lake, MN, loving her boys Henry and Lou beyond all measure. She often let people know that mama bear was always around. She enjoyed watching them excel in baseball and most recently college. She was a special 'auntie' to her 'bugaloos'. She looked up to her sisters and brothers “Hey Bro!” who provided endless support. She loved her partner Rich and looked forward to a life together with him.

Jess is preceded in death by grandparents Evelyne and John Moeller Sr. and Arthur and Frieda Kunz, aunts and uncles Dave Drake, Joan Hennen, Katie and Jim Moore, Jeanne Zytkovicz, Jim Moeller, and cousin Teresa Mosknes.

She is survived by loving parents Mic and Marcia Kunz, siblings Jennifer Darnall (Mark, Kelsey & Kevin Jacobs, Ethan), John (Nicki, Morgan & Matt), Jeff (Megan, Natalie & Nolan), Julie Bullock (Tim, Danielle & Nathan), partner Rich Kirk, cousin Jamie Barthel (the 6^th 'J'), Mark Brandt father of her children and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and friends all who loved her deeply. And she wouldn't want us to forget her dog Murphy.

Jess faced her journey with resiliency, stubbornness and courage. While our hearts mourn the loss of Jess, we know she is pain free. Jess, our pain and sorrow is indescribable and we all miss you so much. We all love you and there's no way we'll ever forget you!

Funeral service will be held Thursday October 24^th at Pax Christi Catholic Church in Eden Prairie, MN. Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm and mass at 1:00 pm. Inurnment following mass, immediate family only please, at Washburn-McReavy Dawn Valley Chapel and Memorial Park in Bloomington.
