Beverly Lindeman

Obituary of Beverly Ann Lindeman

Beverly Ann Lindeman, lovingly known as "Bev" or "Bevver" by her family and friends, was born on April 5, 1935, in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, to Leroy and Beula Doty. Growing up as a farm girl, Bev had a passion for raising sheep, which she proudly showed at the Minnesota State Fair. As an active member of 4-H, she earned many ribbons for her dedication and hard work.
Bev was deeply involved in her church, where she found joy in both service and music. Her love for music led her to meet her future husband when a mutual friend introduced her to Richard (Dick), the superintendent of Sunday school at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in North Minneapolis. He was looking for a pianist to play for the Sunday school children. She later sang with the Reach Out Singers, a group that traveled internationally, performing in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, spreading warmth and hope through their music. Her love for music extended into her community, where she taught piano lessons to children for many years, passing on her passion for music to the next generation.
Bev's generosity of spirit continued throughout her life as she frequently volunteered at Scenic Heights Elementary School and later at the Minnetonka High School career center, where she helped guide students.
In addition, she was skilled at sewing and needlepoint, culminating her creative pursuits with the completion of her remarkable needlepoint version of the Mona Lisa.
Along with Dick, Bev also volunteered with We Can Ride, serving as a therapeutic horseback riding sidewalker and ambassador for families and riders. In 1998, Bev and Dick were recognized by the Eleven Who Care Awards for their exceptional contributions to the community.
In addition to raising her two children, Jane and James, Bev was a second mom to many neighborhood kids, offering them love, guidance, and support.
Bev was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Beula Doty; her brothers, Herbert Doty and William Doty; and her sisters, Dorothy Hendrickson and Eileen Doty. Bev is survived by her loving husband, Dick Lindeman, her daughter, Jane Musser, her son, James Lindeman, her son-in-law, Dave Musser, her daughter-in-law, Stefanie Lindeman, and her grandson, Griffin Lindeman.
On October 7, 2024, she passed away peacefully at her apartment in the Waters of Edina, in the presence of her loving husband, Dick Lindeman.
A private memorial service will be held on October 28, 2024. In place of flowers, donations to We Can Ride at wecanride.org would be greatly appreciated.
