Obituary of Eugene Carl Henriksen

Eugene Carl Henriksen, 91 was born October 21, 1932, in Rochester Minnesota.  He grew up in Red Wing and Albert Lea, MN.  He attended high school in Albert Lea, MN.  Eugene was in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955 and served in Korea.  He moved to Minneapolis, MN to attend Dunwoody institute of technology and graduated in 1959.

 

He married Marlys JoAnn Henriksen (Christianson) in 1956.  They moved to the house they built in Coon Rapids, MN in 1960, where they raised their family and lived for 40 years.  They retired to Sturgeon Lake, MN, then Cloquet, MN.  They were members of Peace Lutheran Church in Coon Rapids for 35 years.

 

Eugene is preceded in death by his wife Marlys, daughter Cheryl M. Henriksen, parents Carl and Bertha Henriksen, sister Edith Ludwig and brother Gerald Henriksen.

 

Eugene passed away October 08, 2024, in Champlin, MN.

 

Eugene and Marlys loved to travel with family and friends by RV and motorcycle to many of the states and Canada, with additional trips to Europe, Hawaii and Alaska.  Eugene retired from G. C. Peterson Machinery in Minneapolis after 38 years.

Eugene is survived by children David Henriksen of Clarksville, TN, Michael Henriksen of Ramsey, MN and Robbin McDaniel (Jim McDaniel) of Coon Rapids, MN.  5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

A graveside service will be held at Morningside Memorial Gardens at 11800 University Ave N, Coon Rapids MN at 12 noon on October 28, 2024, followed by a 1PM luncheon at the Coon Rapids VFW.  1919 Coon Rapids Blvd, Coon Rapids MN 55433.
