Patricia Seim

Obituary of Patricia M. Seim

Patricia M. Seim (Zagaros), age 93 of Minneapolis, previously a long-time resident of Coon Rapids, passed away September 22, 2024.

Preceded in death by her husband Warren, her father, mother, brother Jerry, sister Donna, daughter Kathleen Moses, and granddaughter Ann Kathleen.

Born in Minneapolis on the 17th of January 1931, Pat is survived by her children Gary (Lee Pfannmuller), Janice (Gary) Johnson, Karen (Martin) Keller; son-in-law Tim Moses; and 7 grandchildren (Clayton Keller, Samuel Keller, Margaret Achu, Kristen Seim, Gretchen Seim, Max Moses, and Natalie Moses), and 6 great-grandchildren; brother Jack Zagaros (98); and many nieces and nephews.

Married 71 years to the love of her life, Warren, Pat’s heart and long-held passion for life were broken with his passing two years ago. Up until his death, Pat had never lived alone. She had always been surrounded by family, friends, neighbors, and her quiet Norwegian husband. Wherever she happened to be, there was a roomful of people, laughter, and joy. Chatty, eternally fond of Warren’s famous Manhattans, a lover of their simple life in Coon Rapids, a constant host of family and friends at their small cabin near Dorset, Pat’s life was shaped in many ways by her younger years. Although she often talked about the time she spent on her grandparents’ farm in Onamia during the depression, she never spoke of those years in a disparaging way. Those hard years were also simple times that laid the foundation for her approach to life for many more decades.

A devout Catholic, Pat and Warren were long-time members of the St. Timothy’s parish in Blaine. The family thanks Father Joe at St. Tim’s and the staff at Our Lady of Peace Hospice, Our Lady of Peace Home, and Pillars of Prospect Park for their wonderful care the last few years of Pat’s life. Services will be held on Tuesday, October 22, at St. Timothy’s Church in Blaine at 707 89th Ave NE. Visitation will begin at 10am followed by Mass at 11am. Interment will occur at Fort Snelling Cemetery, Assembly Area #4, at 2pm. Family and friends are then invited to a celebration of Pat’s life at the Ukrainian Event Center, 301 Main St., in northeast Minneapolis from 3pm to 7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to Our Lady of Peace Hospice and Care Services are welcome.
