Obituary of Betty L Grassie

Betty L. Grassie passed peacefully on September 26, 2024, at home in Brooklyn Park with family by her side.  Her village of family, led by her nephew Bruce King and his family, supplying food and friendship, allowed her to live a fairly independent life.  Her granddaughter Diana stopped in at least twice a week to tend to some of her needs.  Her faithful friendships with neighbors in the building (Real Life) and her love of reading brought contentment and peace.

David and Matthew were weekly companions sharing dinner and love.  Phyllis visited as often as she could, staying for several days at a time.

Life can be challenging at 97 years and the breaking of her neck in June made it even harder. After a 6 week stay in rehab she made it home.  Juanita flew in from Canada and lovingly took over her daily needs.  The pain was under control finally and she had a few weeks of friends and family visiting and lots of pampering. She always knew, and looked forward to spending eternity with Jesus and seeing her loved ones again.

Grandma Betty, AKA, “Grandma B” loved and cherished her children and grandchildren, greats and great-greats.

Keep her in your hearts till we meet again.  Until then, she’s going Home!  Safe in the arms of Jesus

Betty is preceeded in death by her mother, Hilda (Warren) Johnson; husband, David "Bob"; daughter, Kathie; sister, Phyllis; nephews, warren and Jeff

She is survived by son, David; daughters, Phyllis (Jim), Juanita (Shane), grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

God Bless
