Danny Peterson

Obituary of Danny J Peterson

It is with profound sadness that I share the passing of my beloved father, Danny J. Peterson, who left us on September 25, 2024 at the age of 77 after his long battle with prostate cancer. Surrounded by his loving family and friends in his final moments, he was a man of immense humor and wisdom, cherishing every moment spent with his loved ones.

Danny came into this world as a preemie on June 4, 1947 in Baldwin, WI and was an only child to James and Marion Peterson. Danny graduated from St. Croix High School in 1965. Danny joined the U.S. Army in 1966 and faithfully served in South Korea until 1972 after which he joined and served in the National Guard until 1974.

He met his wife Ok Cha Pak in South Korea and married in 1968. Danny once an only child married into a large and loving family. He is an uncle (or better known as Unker) to 16 nieces and nephews. Danny and Ok Cha had two children whom they dedicated themselves to unconditionally. Their only son, Christoper D. Peterson, his wife Samantha, and their two daughters, Mila (8) and Stella (6), and his only daughter, Stephanie Jinju Truong, her husband Sonny, and their two children, Anton (12) and Simone (10).

Danny was a real estate agent for over 30 years helping others find homes for their families. Danny was an avid reader, he loved his motorcycles, a man of God, and a loving friend and family to all. Danny was a devoted and loyal husband to Ok Cha who passed away May 19, 2005 after her battle with bone marrow cancer.

Danny was blessed again marrying Judy Watanabe, his surviving spouse. Danny and Judy married on June 11, 2011. Danny gained through the marriage, a bonus son, Chad Watanabe, his wife Sue. Danny became a grandfather for the first time in 2012 when his grandson Anton was born. He was later blessed with granddaughters, Simone, Mila and Stella. Danny and Judy bought a home in Marco Island, Florida where they spent their winters. Danny and Judy traveled abroad and in the U.S. on his motorcycle visiting loved ones.

Danny devoted his life to the service of others. He was in AA over 40 years helping others in their sobriety journey. He was a mentor, friend, realtor, husband, father, unker, brother-in-law, father-in-law, and more to so many.

To commemorate his remarkable life and the memories we cherish, a service will be held at Westgate Church on October 3, 2024. We welcome all who knew him to join us in celebrating the life of a man who was loved deeply and will be missed. Details below:
