Robert (Bob) Allen Mobroten

Passed away on September 16, 2024 at Regina Nursing home in Hastings, MN

Robert was born on April 4th, 1936 in Hibbing, MN. He was the loving son of Frank Jorun and Sylvia Mae (Rinta) Mobroten.

Bob earned his bachelor’s degree from Concordia College, Moorehead, MN. He went on to be a teacher for a couple of years. He then worked in the corrections field for over 30 years. He was a guard, Recreational Director and Corrections officer at MN state prison, Stillwater, MN. He retired as a parole and probation officer for Ramsey County.

Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved being outdoors at any time of year. Bob also loved to sing. In his younger years, he was a member of a quartet. When living in Texas he sang in the church choir and was an Elder of the church. He also sang with the Eagan’s Men’s Choir.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Sylvia Mobroten and his brother Richard Mobroten.

He is survived by his wife Helen M. (Kleven) Mobroten of Hastings, MN. They were married 64 years; their children Robin K. Mobroten and her partner Robin Walker, Cheryl M. Eaton and Kurt A. Mobroten; Grandchildren Peder J. Mobroten, wife Sarah, Samantha M. Eaton, partner Zach Smith, Levi C. Eaton, partner Jamelle Hemphill, Britney L. Doyle, husband Lekendric Doyle, Lauren M. Rogers, husband David Rogers; 8 great grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at Hope Lutheran Church 16898 Michael Avenue, Hastings, MN at on October 11th, 2:00 p.m. There will be a short visitation before the service and coffee after at the church.

The burial will be at the Forbes Cemetery on October 12th at 2:00. Hwy 7, Forbes, MN.
