Obituary of Roy Anton Berg

Roy Anton Berg, 85, from Malmo, MN passed away on Monday, Sept. 16th, 2024 at the Aitkin Riverwood Hospital. He was born August 11, 1939 in Brainerd, MN to Roy E. & Lois (Avdolovich) Berg. He was raised in Deerwood, MN & graduated from Crosby High School in 1957.

Roy graduated from Mankato State College in 1963. He was a member of the MN National Guard for 24 years, retiring in 1989. He was united in marriage to Charlotte Roe on Aug 29, 1964 in Grey Eagle, MN. He & Char were married for 60 years. Roy worked on electrical high lines & sub stations in Loveland, CO in 1974-1977. He & Char owned sporting goods stores in St. Paul & Alexandria, MN. Roy taught high school visual arts in Truman, Redwood Falls & Hinckley, MN for 32 years. He retired from teaching in 1999, shortly before moving to Mille Lacs Lake. He was a church member in Malmo at Bethesda Lutheran Church of Malmo for 22 yrs.

Roy is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 60 yrs., Charlotte Berg of Malmo; daughter, Shari Bluband (David) of Saint Helena, CA, granddaughter Naomi Bluband of San Diego, CA.

Services will be held Friday, Oct. 4, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Bethesda Lutheran Church, Malmo. Visitation will be from 10 AM to 11 AM at the church, followed with military honors.
