Obituary of Roger Leonard Knight

Roger Leonard Knight, 62 of Hermantown, Minnesota passed away suddenly on September 2, 2024 at home. Roger was born December 8, 1961 in Denver, Colorado, adopted by Leonard and Sylvia Knight. He lived in Southern California, Las Vegas, Nevada and Minnesota, where he met the love of his life, Carol (Mason). After his father tragically passed away, he moved to Las Vegas with his mother. He graduated in 1980 from Clark High School in Las Vegas and returned to Minnesota soon after, then married Carol in 1983.

He loved cooking, grilling and smoking fish, Lake Superior, and playing with his beloved grandchildren.

Roger is preceded in death by father Leonard and mother Sylvia. He is survived by sister Karen Knight (Keith Grantham) with daughters Rachel Von Willard and Lauren Stuart (Wilson) and their children; his wife of 41 years Carol (Mason) Knight, daughters Jessica Sawdey (Terry) and Kathryn Knight (Mel Brouse); grandchildren Amita and Maverick Sawdey; brother-in-law Paul Mason (Cathy Hetland); sister-in-law Nancy LaRoche (Walt); extended family and friends.

Roger will be missed greatly by his colleagues at Visionworks in Duluth, where he served as General Manager for many years.

A private family service will be held.
