Obituary of EmRose Ida Clement
EmRose Ida Clement, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at the age of 94, just weeks shy of her 95th birthday. Born on September 26, 1929 and residing most of her life in Joliet, IL before spending the last 8 years of her life in Minnesota.
EmRose’s life was a remarkable display of hard-work and devotion. Growing up as a share-cropper, she took whatever came her way with an attitude of acceptance. A breast cancer survivor, her faith in Jesus was quiet, but alive and she did not fear death. For those who believe, we know we will see her again in heaven.
EmRose was married to her devoted husband, LeRoy, for 65 wonderful years, creating a lifetime of cherished memories together. While her children were young she loved traveling North to Minnesota to spend time fishing with her family. She was proud of her career in banking, and spoke often of her years of experience there.
She is survived by her three loving children, Neal Clement (Rosalyn) of Roseville, CA, Clayton Clement of Kingsport, TN, and Linda Davis (Robert) of Brooklyn Park, MN. Her legacy continues through her seven granddaughters and a multitude of great-grandchildren, who will always remember her air-popped popcorn, Bugles at the beach, and her warm, sweet smile.
EmRose is preceded in death by her parents, Ida and Jacob Schafer; her siblings Margaret, Bisping, George Schafer, and Klara McFadden; and daughter-in-law Barbara Clement.
EmRose will be remembered for her kindness, her dedication to family, and her enduring spirit. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
