Obituary for Audrey Zarbok Wiley
Audrey Wiley, 69, of Alexandria passed away Monday, August 12.
Audrey Kathleen Zarbok was born November 23, 1954 to Milton and Rhoda Zarbok (Roddy) in Glenwood, Minnesota.
They moved to various places but always came back to Minnesota.
Audrey was the eldest of 6 children. Some of Audrey’s favorite childhood memories were of spending time at the Zarbok Family farm, with her grandmother.
Some of her hobbies were visiting family and friends, catching up on the latest happenings, playing cards, reading, needlework and chat groups on the Internet.
In 1975, Audrey had a daughter, Dawn Elizabeth.
In 1979, she married Ordean Sanvig. To this union Jacquline June was born. They later divorced.
In 2003, Audrey moved to Hilliard, Florida. She married Robert (Tubear) Wiley in 2005.
Audrey and Tubear were members of the Métis tribe and Tubear taught Audrey many of the Native American ways.
She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary 401.
In 2017 Tubear passed away. It was then that Audrey returned home to Minnesota.
Audrey is preceded in death by her parents, stepmother, daughter, Dawn, and nephew, Justin.
She is survived by her daughter, Jackie Sanvig, adopted daughter, Chelsea Simmons, grandson Ignacio Gonzales, granddaughters Alicia Sanvig and Emma Torkelson, brothers Greg and Danny Zarbok, sisters Laurie (Wolf) Gerdes, Brenda (Rich) Schrodetzki, Sharon Pedersen, stepbrothers Terry (Vanessa) Sabelko, Tony (Kim) Sabelko, stepsisters Barb (Jeremy) Beedle, Sue Sabelko, uncle Larry (Cheryl Chan) Zarbok, aunt Linda Zarbok and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Audrey went home to be with Jesus on August 12, 2024 at Bethany on the Lake in the care of Hospice of Douglas County and the Bethany Home nursing staff.
A celebration of life will be held at Bethany on the Lake chapel in Alexandria on Wednesday, September 11 at 1pm.
