Obituary of Sharon Jean Medved
Sharon Jean Medved, 54, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 8, 2018, at St. Luke's in Duluth, surrounded by her family. Her sudden death has been heartbreaking, and no words can express how much she will be missed.
Sharon was born in Duluth, MN, on October 10, 1963. She was the daughter of Anton (Tony) & Sheila Samarzia. She grew up in the Morgan Park neighborhood and graduated from Morgan Park High School in 1982. She worked at Sammy's Pizza for many years, The Inn on Lake Superior, and the Benedictine Health Center. She was currently employed by Northwood's Children's Services.
Sharon attended St. John's Lutheran Church in Saginaw, MN. She enjoyed spending her summer weekends camping at Sturgeon Lake, loved the campfires and had lots of fun with kayaking, boating, and 4-wheeling. Sharon liked her daily power walks. She had a big heart and was kind to all. Sharon will be remembered for her beautiful smile, sense of humor, caring personality, and her genuine love for family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Anton.
Sharon is survived by her partner, Daniel Berg; children, Kristina (Jarrett) Androski and Derek; mother, Sheila; brother, Steven and sister, Karen (Robert) Glowacki; nephew, Matthew Glowacki, niece, Gina Glowacki; numerous extended family; and her beloved dog Bandit.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the ICU 5E staff - Becca, Jill, Karen, Sharon and also the First Responders. A heartfelt thank you to all those special friends who have been by our side.
Gathering of family and friends from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. with a prayer service beginning at 5 p.m. Thursday, June 14th in the Cremation Society of Minnesota Chapel, 4100 Grand Ave., Duluth, MN.
