Donald Duane Davidson
October 9, 1931 – August 23, 2024
He was 92 years young
Don was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Shirley. His parents David and Serena (Rena) Davidson, his sister Dorothy and 8 brothers: Kenneth (Kenny), David (Harry), Richard (Mickey), Robert (Bobby), Gerald (Tony), John (Jack), James (Jim) and William (Billy)
Don is survived by his 5 sons: Mark (Sherry), Mike, Don (Paula), Ron (Jan) and Sean) 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, his sister Carol McLeod, 2 sisters-in-law Virginia (Ginny) Davidson and Iris Archibald and many extended family, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
Don was born in Duluth MN and married the love of his life, Shirley, in 1953 and loved her until the day he died. Together they raised 5 sons.
Don served in the Korean War and was awarded the Bronze Star and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
Don worked for the Coca Cola Company in Duluth, and many other jobs to support his family. Don retired from Lakeside Transfer as a truck driver, Teamsters Local 346. Don was a volunteer firefighter in Rice Lake Township for 20 years and retired as Fire Chief.
Don coached Little League and helped raise half the kids in Rice Lake Township (as they were always “hanging out” at the Davidson Household).
Don will be remembered for his quick wit, endless jokes and always ready to lend a helping hand.
Don will be forever loved and greatly missed by his family and friends.
