Obituary of Blaise Watson

Blaise Watson, 74, passed away August 17, 2024, after a short but brave battle with cancer. Blaise was born to William and Alice on November 13, 1949, in Minneapolis, MN where he spent his childhood, moving to Butler, PA for high school. He graduated from Butler High School in 1967 and then served in Vietnam for “14 months and 5 days and 7 hours”. He attended the University of MN before his lifelong passion of carpentry ignited his career, and he dedicated his creative mind and tireless work ethic to enhance the lives and homes of those in his community.

Blaise's legacy will endure through our memories of his dry humor and culinary artistry, which added flavor and laughter to our lives. He imparted his passion for the outdoors and fishing to his beloved daughter and grandchildren, creating memories we will hold close to our hearts forever. Blaise loved to host family get-togethers in the home he built and always lent a helping hand or bit of wisdom to any remodeling projects. Whether racing horses, playing tennis, or a round of golf, Blaise surrounded himself with some incredible friends. Though a man of few words, his presence resonated with a profound and lasting impact, shaping hearts and minds with his quiet strength, deep loyalty, steadfast honesty, and unwavering love.

Blaise was preceded in death by parents William and Alice and sister Barb. Blaise is survived by daughter Adrienne (Jerrad), grandchildren Annabelle and Everett, siblings Rebecca, Elizabeth, Margaret, Chris and Mary, nieces and nephews and countless friends. We will cherish Blaise and his warm, welcoming smile, in our hearts forever.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, September 3 at 1:00 pm at Lakewood’s Historic Chapel with a reception to directly follow at Lakewood Cemetery’s Garden Mausoleum. All are welcome.

Memorials can be made to Family of Christ Lutheran Church, Youth Ministry.
