Obituary of Robert (Bob) Lee Fizell, Jr

 

Robert (Bob) Lee Fizell, Jr, age 58 of Osseo, MN passed away on August 18, 2024 at home surrounded by family and loved ones after a short battle with cancer.  

Bob was born on March 30, 1966, the son of Robert (Bud) Fizell, Sr and Geraldine (Gerri) Lamoreaux Grave in Ashland, Wisconsin.  Bob was raised in Bayfield Wisconsin and was a member of the Red Cliff Tribe of Lake Superior Chippewa.  Bob attended Holy Family Catholic school through grade 7 and then transferred to Bayfield School where he graduated in 1984. 

Bob moved to Champlin, MN in 1997 and married Roberta Bear in August 1998 , residing in Champlin, MN to raise their two sons, Zachary and Alex. 

Bob enjoyed many activities but had a passion for coaching his boys in basketball and baseball throughout their school years.  Bob loved all Wisconsin sports teams; Packer, Brewers, Bucks and Badgers and rarely missed watching a game with his boys or his friends.  Bob also frequently played golf, attended live music concerts, weekends at the casino and each year he attended the Minnesota State Fair two or three times.  Everyone who knew Bob knew he loved music and late nights spinning 45’s of classic songs with friends.  Most recently he became a new fan of country music.

Bob is survived by his two sons, Zachary Fizell and Alex Fizell of Champlin, MN, step-children Jeannette, Sara and Jeffrey, four step-grandchildren, brother Randall Fizell of Red Cliff, sister Tracy (Rex) Nykanen of Clayton, WI, one niece Ryanne, three nephews Randy, Matt and Walker, several extended family members, ex-wife Roberta Bear-Ujke, step-mother Diane Fizell, a large Band of Brothers and close friends as well as his special friend and caretaker Diane Smith of Brooklyn Park, MN.  

He was preceded in death by his parents Bud Fizell and Gerri Grave. Grandparents Eugene and Jeannie Lamoreaux, John and Ida Fizell.  

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday September 21, 2024 from 3-7 pm at Willy McCoy’s in Champlin, MN.  Services and interment held at date to be determined in October 2024 in Bayfield, Wisconsin.
