Obituary of Margaret Davis

Heaven gained a wonderful woman this week! A wonderful mother, daughter, Nana, aunt and friend!! Yesterday a gentle soul found peace in Margaret "Marge" Davis (8/22/1938-8/15/2024. She is survived by Stephanie Gettelfinger-Pascoal (Antonio) Julie Ann Schauer (Jason) and Kathy Comfort (Andrew), a son Allen Gettelfinger (Victoria), her grandsons Sam Huber (Laurie), Daniel Schauer, and Matthew Hearthsol (Sam) and numerous nieces, nephews, and family.
She is preceded in death by her husband Daniel Gettelfinger, her parents Margaret and Joseph Legut, her brothers John Legut, Michael Legut, and David Legut and her son Phillip Gettelfinger.
Marge lived a full life raising five children, owning a business, finishing college late in life, and becoming a Certified Financial Planner. She was a devoted Catholic and volunteered for the church over the years.
Marge was a caring, thoughtful, slightly sarcastic, and intelligent woman, who wanted to see her children happy. She was incredibly sweet and a wonderful matriarch for her family. A strong problem solver, she was happiest when she had something to worry about on behalf of others.
Marge fought back from so many health issues in the last two years including MDS (a blood disorder), a fractured hip and femur, AML (leukemia), scoliosis, vertebrae compression fracture, chemotherapy, many transfusions, and two strokes. Additionally, she lost her last two brothers in the last nine months. But she persevered.
Our heartfelt thanks are owed to the exceptional care she received from the nurses and aids at The Pillars, Allina Home Health. and especially in the last weeks from the nurses and support staff at Grace Hospice.

We will celebrate Marge's life on Saturday, August 24th at Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Community 4537 3rd Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55419. Visitation at 10:30 am, followed by mass at 11:00am. A celebration of life (Irish Wake) will follow at 1:00 at Kieran's Irish Pub https://www.facebook.com/kieransirishpub/ 85 6th St N, Minneapolis, MN, United States, Minnesota.
