Obituary of Judith Elaine Moore
For all of us who knew Judie, we are saddened to be announcing her passing. She was a remarkable person to all she has come across from family to friends. Her fervent belief in the Lord and her daily prayer with roots grounded in the Word give us assurance of her peace in rest.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Mr. Albert Anderson (1903-1997) and Mildred Berg Anderson (1907-1992), 4 brothers: Albert Jr., Jack, Gerald, Paul, husband: Mr. Dennis Eugene Moore (1937-1994) and, daughter: Darcie Delma Gould (1967-2019)
She is survived by sister: Mary Ellen (California), daughters: Danielle Mildred Moore and Melissa Ellen Moore, 7 grandchildren: Christopher Jensen, Ashley (Patrick Valentine), Taylor Dahl, Dylan Horn, Austin Horn, Mercedes Moore and Savannah Moore, 13 great-grand children: Evan, Lacy, Joriana, McKenna, Gabriel, Jaxson, Maddox, Bella, Mi’King, Mi’Ella, Josie, Grayson, and Veda Mae.
Judie grew up in Minneapolis and graduated in 1961 from Roosevelt High School. She found love with Dennie and had 3 beautiful daughters which they raised in Elk River and she drove a school bus for many years. Judie was surrounded by love and had a zeal for life and an admiration for fall on Lake Superior. They lived for summers on Battle Lake with friends like Doyle and Linda Harvego. Playing cards, going to the movies and roller-skating every weekend, and church 2-3 days a week were a couple favorite pastimes when she wasn’t baking, doing her budget, couponing, calligraphy, knitting, or trying to teach grandkids crocheting, or getting, “Freedom from the Disney channel!”. We will remember you when we drink red-water and have a smoke, eat toaster strudels, get tickles and watch Land Before Time, gather for Christmas, text in abbreviations, and all of the scriptures and pictures you sent us. Thank you for always being there for us no matter what, and to everyone, “Drive it like you stole it!"
In solidarity, here is a poem by Nick Kenny that was found in Judie’s bible titled Omnipotent:
Somebody listens to every prayer,
When you are ill and burdened with care,
When your soul is bent with its weight of woe,
Tell it to Someone who loves you so.
Someone will tell you that He understands,
He’ll hold your heart in His gentle hands,
Just like a child when the father’s near,
With God at your side, there’s nothing to fear.
When days are long and nights have no end,
When things go wrong,
There’s always one friend.
Just lift your eyes and you’ll see Him there,
With His gentle smile
As He hears your prayer.
