Obituary of Mary Damico
Mary Damico (née Crawford) passed away on August 3, 2024. She was known to many as “Bear.” She was a lifelong resident of Minneapolis and recently a part-time resident of New Orleans, Louisiana. She was preceded by her parents Donald and Marian Crawford. Mary is survived by her husband, John, her daughter, Alecia Stenseth, and her dog Miss Irma. Mary‘s interest in music was broad and deep. She especially liked rock ‘n’ roll, blues, soul, and New Orleans traditional jazz. She was a super fan of many local musical acts during the 1970s and 80s. Mary was a longtime employee of Travelers Insurance Company and Walker Methodist Home. An open house in honor of Mary will be held from 1:00 - 3:00 PM, Saturday, September 7 at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4343 Nicollet Avenue, Minneapolis. Refreshments will follow at Mary and John’s nearby home. Mary’s ashes will be interned at a later date. She wished for some of her ashes to be placed in the Mississippi river at New Orleans on Mardi Gras Day at the conclusion of the Krewe of St. Anne parade. Memorials preferred to Animal Humane Society of Minn., Jane Brattain Breast Center or New Orleans Muscians' Clinic.
