Obituary of Jacqueline (Jackie) Lallier
Jacqueline (Jackie) Lallier, age 86 of Chisago City, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2024. Jackie was born and raised in St. Paul where she graduated from Johnson High School in 1955. She owned and operated JJ’s Resort in Balsam Lake, WI with her former husband, Ray, while beginning her journey of motherhood. After their divorce, Jackie bought a “cabin” in Chisago City, MN where she enjoyed sunsets and catching fish from the dock. Jackie worked in and near St. Paul mostly doing secretarial work in the health care field until her retirement when she moved to her cabin. After retirement, she continued working part-time for the US Census Bureau and Regions Hospital. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, volunteering, and educating herself in history and culture. Her travels brought her to 6 continents and over 60 countries where she met many wonderful friends along the way. She volunteered for AMICUS of MN and Family Pathways, was a member of the St. Paul Hiking Club, MN Mycological Society, Osman Shrine Women’s Auxiliary, Chisago County Historical Society, MN Archaeological Society, Maya Society, and Forever Young.
Preceded in death by parents, Roland Johnson (Delores) and Maxine Nelson (Arvid); brothers, Gary Nelson and Dale Nelson; sister-in-law, Barb Nelson; brother-in-law, Jack Bartholmy; and son-in-law, Greg Philipp.
Survived by daughter, Kathie Lallier; grandchildren, Gabe Philipp, Monty Philipp, and Lexie Philipp; bonus grandchild, Derek Kent; great-granddaughter, Raylynn Philipp; bonus great-grandchildren, Lylah Kent and Mikko Kent; sister, Cheryl (Cherry) Bartholmy; brother, Dennis Nelson; and many extended family and dear friends.
The family extends a special thanks to dear friend, Denise Nord, for her visits and support, and the caregivers at Our Lady of Peace Hospice Home during Jackie’s short illness. Jackie will be forever loved and missed by many.
Celebration of Life to be held Tuesday, August 27th from 4 PM – 7 PM at Green Mill, 6025 Hudson Road, Woodbury, MN. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Our Lady of Peace Hospice Home in St. Paul.
