Obituary of Doris Ann Girard

Doris Girard, age 87, passed away to her Heavenly home on Friday, July 19, 2024. 

Doris is survived by children Kathleen Vander Schaaf, Kevin (Patricia) Girard, Jolene (Randall) Knowles; grandchildren Christine (Jose) Gonzalez, Kim (Misael Herrera Guzman) Matroni, Duane (Sara) Girard, Keith (Savannah Stonestreet) Girard, Karen (Brandon Wallace) Girard, Kelly (Joseph) Johnson; nine great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brother, Donald (Kathy) Setterman; sister, Diane (Michael) DeGidio.

Doris was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Darwyne. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary last year just before his passing. She was also preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Laura Girard; son-in-law, David Vander Schaaf; and granddaughter, Cynthia Rhodes.

Doris loved people and her greatest desire was that people knew Jesus as their Lord and Savior. We know that she is with her Jesus now, no longer suffering or in pain. 

"For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time has come for my departure. I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day - and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing." 2 Timothy 4:6-8

Memorial Service 11 AM with visitation beginning at 10 AM, Friday, August 2 at Crossroads Church, 7955 Ivystone Ave S, Cottage Grove, MN 55016. Private family burial at Cottage Grove Cemetery.
