Schmidt, Elona, age 77 of New Brighton. Died peacefully April 30, 2016. Preceded in death by parents Juell and Edith and dear sister Anita Berg. Survived by husband of 58 years Joseph; children Avalon (Mark) Mortek, Heather Meka, Matthias J. Schmidt; grandchildren Jason, Jamie, Michael, Jennifer, Derek, Rylee; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters Linda (Steve) Hurst and Lorri (Don) Herlofsky; brother-in-law Gene Berg; many nieces and nephews. Celebration of Elona's life Sunday May 15 from 2:00-7:00pm at New Brighton Eagles Club, 563 Old Hwy 8 NW, New Brighton, MN. Memories of Elona preferred over memorials.
