Obituary of Rodney Earl Moberg

Rodney Earl Moberg, 72, of Cotton, MN entered into eternity on July 13th, 2024, peacefully at home.

Rodney was born August 30, 1951, to Ernest and Lorraine Moberg in Duluth, MN.

After graduating from Cotton High School in 1970 he attended Duluth Lake Superior College to become a machinist. Rodney worked 42 years at the US Steel MinnTac plant as a machinist and later as safety inspector.

Rodney met his wife, Marie Ferdon and they were married in 1977; together they had two children, Megan and Ernest. His family meant everything to him.

Rodney retired from MinnTac in 2012 and spent time enjoying their cabin, riding with the Cotton 4-wheelers, snowmobiling, fishing and joining the Cotton Snowmobile Club and was also a member of the Cotton Community Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Amelia; brother-in-law, Joseph O’Keefe; sisters-in-law, LeAnn Nielsen and Marilyn Ferdon; and in-laws Robert and Jeanne Ferdon.

Rodney is survived by his wife, Marie; children, Megan and Ernest; brother, Henry (Shirley); sister, Claudia O’Keefe; grandson, Jeremiah Gould; and many nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law, Tim Ferdon, Robert Nielsen, and Daryl Krone. He will be missed by everyone.

Visitation will be at 10 am, followed by the Memorial Service at 11 am on Saturday, July 27th, at the Cotton Community Church.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Cotton Volunteer Fire Department (First Responders).
