Obituary of Colleen Patricia Garrett

Colleen Patricia Garrett, 72, died on 07/09/24 at North Shore Estates Nursing Home. Colleen was born in Duluth, MN on 03/17/1952. She was a lifelong resident of Duluth, growing up with 12 siblings in The West End and graduating from Denfeld High School. Colleen worked various jobs including Chun King Cook Home, Chris Jensen & Nopeming. She retired from the St. Louis County Jail in 2012. Colleen loved spending time with her family around the Holidays, especially her Birthday, St. Patrick’s Day. Colleen was a walking miracle having battled breast cancer in 2005 and later a brain tumor. Her family would like to thank all of the caregivers over the years, especially Dr. Amber Erickson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Lucy Connor; brothers, Patrick, Thomas, and Terry; sisters Rose Marie, Karen, Joyce and Susie; Nieces Lynette & Julie & nephews Dean, Leon and Joshua. She is survived by her Husband, Jeffrey, two Sons, Travis (Kari) Hammerstrom & Ryan (Jenna) Hammerstrom, Stepdaughter Laura (Glenn) Bixler, grandchildren Luca & Oliver Hammerstrom and Evan & Nolan Bixler, siblings Carol Foster, Joann (Myron) Connor, Mary (Butch) Bennett, Dennis (Kathy) Connor and Loretta Connor, along with many nieces and nephews, family and friends.
