Candace Kassow

Obituary of Candace Kassow

Candace “Candy” Kassow, age 74 of St. Anthony MN, passed away July 5.

Though she lived her entire life in the Minneapolis/St Paul area, Candy loved to expand her world, traveling several times to Europe, as well as visiting museums and seeing plays, often with the nieces and nephews she loved. She was a student of history and art, majoring in art at the U of MN Twin Cities. She came of age in the 1960s, and loved the Beatles, classic cinema (particularly Alfred Hitchcock and the French New Wave) but was also a lover of Shakespeare and British history; she was excited to be able to visit the Globe Theatre on her last trip to England.

Candy surrounded herself with a world of art, film, books, and decorative objets d’arts. She was also however an unabashed extrovert, and loved meeting new people who shared her interests. She enjoyed nothing more than sharing her stories, collections, and experiences with those she loved, of whom there were many.

While Candy is survived by siblings Craig (Cathy) Kassow, Mindy (Clay) Andreasen, Mike (Callie) Kassow, as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews, she also leaves behind a living travel log of art and ephemera that details a curious life of exploration and joy. She will be missed by anyone who crossed her path.
