Linda Paulson

Obituary of Linda Paulson

Linda Paulson, age 75, of Osakis, MN, made her final transition on the morning of July 10, 2024, succumbing to cancer at Bethany on the Lake nursing home in Alexandria, MN.  Linda was born on October 31, 1948, to Harold and Georgia (Coberly) Oeltjen. She grew up northeast of Villard, MN, on the family farm and was a 1966 graduate of Villard High School.

On January 31, 1970, Linda married Stanley Paulson at Saint John's Lutheran Church in Villard, MN.  The couple had their son, Scott, and adopted their son, Chad, and daughter, Heidi.  The family resided on the north side of Villard, MN, for many years.  In this home, Linda ran a daycare and considered each daycare kid a part of the family.  After retirement, Linda and Stanley moved to Osakis, MN, where they have an amazing, supportive community of friends and neighbors.

Linda enjoyed attending high school sporting events and watching any and all Minnesota sports teams. She was an avid card player.  She loved to cook and took much pride in her home and yard.  She was known for "saying it like it is." You knew if she teased you, she liked you.  Mostly, she loved being a mom, grandma, and second mom to the daycare kids, neighborhood kids, and her kids' friends.

Linda is survived by her husband, Stanley Paulson of Osakis, MN; daughter, Heidi (Sam) Varghese and grandchildren, Xavier Varghese and Yasmeen Varghese, all of Eden Prairie, MN; siblings, Richard (Bernice) Oeltjen of Glenwood, MN, Joyce Ulenkamp of Osakis, MN, Dean (Anita) Oeltjen of Villard, MN, Bonnie Reichmann of Villard, MN, Janet (Gary) Morrison of Osakis, MN, and Robert (Audrey) Oeltjen of Villard, MN; in-laws, Ronald (Dorothy) Paulson of Sauk Rapids, MN and David (Gretchen) Paulson of Elko, MN; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Georgia Oeltjen; father-in-law, Fredrick Paulson; mother-in-law, Bernadine (Rust)(Paulson) Weiland; son, Scott Paulson; son, Chad Paulson; brother-in-law, Richard Reichmann; niece, Sandy Oeltjen; and niece, Carmen Oeltjen.

While our hearts mourn the loss, we take comfort knowing that Linda is no longer in pain.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
