Obituary of Ryan James Lura
October 17, 1984 – June 24, 2024
Ryan was born at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale MN and spent his childhood in Maple Grove and Brooklyn Park. At the time of his death at age 39 he was living in Fridley. He graduated from Park Center High School in 2003 and from the University of Minnesota in 2007, where he earned a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was most recently employed at Minco Products, Inc. in Fridley.
Ryan loved to play soccer while growing up. He began playing for the Mpls Kickers traveling team at the age of eight, and also played on Park and Rec teams and for the Park Center Pirates. He enjoyed reading, watching football, playing video games, listening to music, and discussing politics.
Ryan is survived by parents David and Angela Lura of Maple Grove MN, brothers Justin (Catherine) Lura of Elk River MN and Nicholas (Amanda) Lura of Albertville MN, Grandmother Eldora Lura of Owatonna MN, niece Elliana, nephew William, step-nieces Holly, Adison, and Zoey, step-great-nieces Aurora, Amity, and Aria, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by Grandparents James Lura, Milton and Dolores Lindquist, and Devy Lindquist.
A private memorial service will be held on July 24, 2024 at Advent Lutheran Church in Maple Grove, where Ryan was baptized and confirmed.
