Brian Owens

Obituary of Brian Joseph Owens

Brian Owens, age 53, died on June 14th, 2024 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital after a long battle for his health concerning heart and kidney events. He was the husband of Staci Owens, they shared 30 years of partnership and 25 years of marriage.

Born in Cloquet, Minnesota he was the son of Michael (aka Mike) Owens and Katherine (aka Kay) Owens. He graduated from Rosemount High School and worked as a Senior Business Analyst for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota. He played lead guitar and wrote songs for his bands Demonicon and Krawg.

He had a deep passion for death metal, it made the cacophony of volume in his head feel equally matched and so calmed him. He loved swimming and being in nature and spending time with his family. With pride in his heart and a twinkle in his eye he could hit you with a sarcastic comment that would make you want to punch him and laugh at the same time, so we all couldn’t help but love him.

He will be remembered for his goofiness, the way he enjoyed a silly hat or jacket, play fighting in the kitchen, and making up clever new lyrics to old songs. He was the type of person who would wake you early in the morning with an obnoxious performance - singing ‘it’s time to get up, it’s time to get up in the morning’ to the tune of Reveille. He brought heartfelt laughter and joy to those who surrounded him.

He is survived by Staci Owens, his children Skylar and Braeden Owens, his mother, his siblings Brad, Kimberly, and Kasey, his dogs Bella and Arya, not to mention the herd of cats. He is fiercely loved and deeply missed.

Brian’s service will be held at Lakewood Cemetery Memorial Chapel on July 15th 2024 at 1:00 pm.  Flower arrangements for the service can be sent directly to Lakewood Cemetary. Memorial donations to his family may be made to the gofundme:https://gofund.me/40e812bb
