Obituary of James Anthony Miller
James A. Miller, age 77, passed away peacefully at home in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with his loving wife of 43 years by his side.
Preceded in death by parents Eleanor and Philip Miller; brother, Edward Miller, sisters Jean (Dick Kestel), Joan (Gordon Burns), Marilyn (Duane) Shimmer, sister-in-law Sondra Miller, nieces Jennifer Deist, Anae Twohig and Lynn Shimmer.
Jim is survived by loving wife Joy Miller; son Anthony (Jessica) Miller, and twin daughters Kendra Miller and Kara Fielding; beloved grandchildren Cameron Miller; Chloe and Kathleen Miller; and Evalyn and Emma Fielding.
Jim is also survived by brothers Robert Miller and Timothy ( Sal) Miller; sisters Nancy Greaves and twin sister Judy (Jim) Twohig; Sisters-in- laws Corey Forstrom, Sharol (Craig) Anderson, Sondra Merrick and Jan Forstrom as well as many loving nieces and nephews, and friends of a lifetime.
In his youth, Jim attended Truesdale Elementary School and graduated from Albert City-Truesdale High School. He was voted “most friendly” in his senior class. Post high school, he attended college classes at the Iowa State University. He traveled to Ireland, where he spent the summer working on a lobster boat. He was an intellectual who was passionate about reading, writing, history and genealogy. Jim and his family enjoyed spending summers at their cottage in Okoboji, Iowa.
Jim will be remembered for his friendliness, honesty, loyalty to family and humble spirit.
