Obituary of Patricia Ann Yingling

Patricia (Pat) Ann (Granros) Yingling, 100 years of age, passed away June 16, 2024 at St. Ann’s Residence in Duluth, Minnesota. Pat was born June 23, 1923, in Leonidas, Minnesota (near Eveleth). At the age of 18, she took the train to California and worked as a spot welder during World War II. After the war, she trained and worked as an x-ray technician up until the age of 21, when she married Frank Reinhart Yingling on August 3, 1946. Frank and Pat lived in Duluth, Minnesota, where they raised their five children until Frank’s death in 1974.

In 1967, Pat began working for the United States Post Office and continued her career for 20 years, retiring in 1987. Thereafter, she served a a foster grandparent serving in this capacity until the age of 85. She was an inspiration to her entire family and will be missed by all.

Pat is survived by her five children, Gail (Steve) Moe, Steven (Joyce) Yingling, Melissa (Steve) LaFlamme, David (Cheryl) Yingling, Jon (Shelly) Yingling, seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
