Obituary of Patricia Lou Goodman

Pat Goodman, beloved mother, sister, aunt and grandmother passed away suddenly on June 8, 2024, at the age of 63. She was born on June 29, 1960, and lived a life filled with love, adventure and fun. She was dedicated to her faith, family and friends. Pat grew up in Emily, MN and graduated from Crosby-Ironton High School. She married Kevin Brager in 1980 and they had 2 children and settled in Duluth MN.

She worked for the last 19 years at Domestic Abuse Intervention Program where she had many roles throughout her career there. She was an advocate, she was on the Divert Team and processed the domestic abuse reports, was the men’s program co-coordinator and ran a woman’s Christian group. She helped develop the Changing Men, Changing Lives program and she loved her job. She married Mark Bergquist in 2006.

Pat loved the outdoors, walking and biking. She loved all her friends, especially her book club friends and the group of women friends “The Sags.” Pat was known for her warm, empathetic heart and her dedication to those she loved. Her absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Pat leaves behind her son Ben and his wife Alyssa and granddaughter Ivy Lou of Duluth, MN, her daughter Shara and Shara’s husband Nate of Valdosta, GA. and stepson Caleb Bergquist of Tulsa, OK. Her other surviving family are her sister Kathy Todd of Pine River, MN, brother Mike Goodman of LaGrange, GA and twin sister Pam Goodman of Chaska, MN. She also leaves behind her nephew Ryan Johnson of Emily, MN, niece Sunni Johnson (Hopkins, MN) and her great nieces and nephews. She leaves behind her beloved dogs Soleil and Miette who she loved with all her heart.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents Les and Lou Goodman of Emily, MN and her brother Carey Goodman.

A service will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024, at Lakeview Covenant Church, 1001 Jean Duluth Rd., Duluth MN 55804. Visitation will be at 10AM, Service at 11AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Animal Allies Humane Society of Duluth or Domestic Abuse Intervention Program of Duluth.
