Obituary of Jeffrey Lynn Hamilton

It is with a heavy heart that we share that Jeffrey Lynn Hamilton, age 66, transitioned peacefully in his home on Monday, June 3, 2024 in Minneapolis, MN. A loving father, devoted husband, and adored brother and son, Jeffrey was known for his spirit, sense of humor, generosity, and charisma. He found his calling in a life dedicated to the service of others and took immense joy in coaching football and baseball in his free time. Jeff’s greatest love, however, was fatherhood - making sure his children, and all young people in his proximity, felt seen, valued and supported. Maniyah Jean Hamilton, his first and only grandchild who he lovingly dubbed “Boo Boos”, became the apple of his eye in these most recent years. He cherished the opportunity to dote over her every day, often sharing snacks, cuddles, her love of Elmo, and of course, playful fussing. 

Jeff is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Sarah Hamilton, daughters, Ashley and Lauren, sons, Marcus and Nick, daughter-in-law, Maisee Lee, nephew, Robert Adams, grandchild, Maniyah Jean, and siblings, Don, Kathy, and Chris. Though we are grappling with this unexpected loss, we are comforted to know Jeff is not alone in this next part of his journey. In death he is reunited with his parents, Frances and Donald Hamilton, sister in law, Jean Marie Adams, nephew, David Gaston, and many more beloved friends and family members. 

All who loved Jeff are invited to join us in celebration of his full and colorful life at Fountain of Life Gospel Church, 3952 10th Avenue South, on Saturday, June 29 at 3pm. As it was his wish for us to laugh, share stories, and delight in his memory, we will continue the celebration at one of his favorite sports bars, Tailgate, 6050 Nicollet Avenue, that evening starting at 8pm.
