Obituary of Dale Allen Gustafson

Gustafson, Dale Allen, was born on March 3, 1944, and passed away peacefully on May 29, 2024, after his lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s. 

He is preceded in death by his son Ryan, his brother “Gus” and his parents Elvina and Wallace Gustafson. 

He is survived by his wife Nan, to whom he was married for 40 years; her children Alison Halley (Mark) and Lucas Johnson (Morgan); his children Amy and Anders; his nine grandchildren Kamryn, Tanner, Ella, Elyssa, Cassidy, Emilia, Gunnar, Sadie and Wesley; his siblings Nancy Nystuen and Loren Gustafson (Cynthia); and more nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews than one can count! 

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. 

Dale had the DNA of the outdoors in his blood. He retired from the landscape design scene after 60 years, and he enjoyed time often spent in his “happy place” on Sugar Lake. Dale was a natural athlete and loved volleyball, golf, tennis, pickle ball, skiing (water and downhill) … and, of course, fishing. 

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, June 17th at 3pm, visitation at 1pm, at the Cremation Society of MN, 7110 France Ave S, Edina, MN 55435.
