Obituary of Paul Edward Tingstad

Tingstad, Paul Edward “Tingy”, age 92, of Golden Valley. A loving husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away on May 25, 2024.

Preceded in death by wife, Beverly (Peterson) Tingstad, son, Timothy, parents Fred and Gertie (Melquist) Tingstad, sisters, Geraldine Van Riper, and Patricia Lieberman. Survived by loving daughter, Paula, son Michael, granddaughters Jessica and Melissa and many wonderful in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Paul was born on December 24, 1931, in Minneapolis, MN where he spent his childhood. He met his future bride Beverly in 1954, and they were joined in matrimony on December 23, 1955, in Rugby, ND and raised a beautiful family. He loved hunting, fishing, carpentry and spending time at his cabin in Grove Lake, MN. He was the best storyteller and always had a good joke or two for you. He served his country honorably during the Korean War and was a 39-year veteran of the Minneapolis Fire Department. A job he loved and was proud of.

Memorial service 2 pm, visitation 1 pm, Sunday, June 9th at the Cremation Society of MN, 4343 Nicollet Ave S, Minneapolis 612-825-2435. Inurnment with Military Honors along with the Minneapolis Fire Department Honors will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at 9 am Monday, June 17th, Assembly Area 3.
