Obituary of Gayla Bernice Carlson

Gayla Bernice Carlson passed away peacefully with her family by her side, at the age of 86 on April 16, 2024.

She is survived by her husband Robert Carlson, her three sons, Scott (Paula), Brett (Lisa), Chad (Denise); brothers Arvin (Corrine) Grove, and Eldon Grove, grandchildren Jared, Peter, Laura (Eshban), Dylan, Eric (Dani), Alicia, great grandchild Micah, many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Gayla was born in Rugby, North Dakota, and started her career as a court reporter in San Fransico and Philadelphia. She met Robert and moved to Minneapolis to be close to her sisters. Gayla was married to Robert for 61 years and loved spending time with one another. She was able to stay home to raise their three boys, dedicating her life and marriage to making sure all the boys were well cared for. Gayla loved music from the 50’s and was a gifted writer. She will be remembered as a fun and loving personality. Everyone who met Gayla was greeted with a smile, an infectious laugh, and a personality that welcomed all. She will be greatly remembered for her spirit, heaven has gained an angel.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Westgate Church, 705 County Road 101 North, Plymouth, MN 55447 Saturday, June 29th at 11:00 am. Visitation at 10:00 am.
