Obituary of Royal E. Wehmanen

Royal E. Wehmanen Sr., passed away at St. Luke's Hospital on June 10, 2018. He was born June 8, 1943 to Aili and Ilmeri Wehmanen in Duluth, MN. He went to school in Brimson, MN. Royal worked numerous jobs. He retired from the DTA in 1998, took a year off for himself in 1999 and then went to work for Essentia Health as Security where he retired in 2008. Royal loved to play golf, bingo, go for long rides and ending up wherever. He was a good and loving man. He will be terribly missed. Royal is preceded in death by both his parents; his sons Rodney and Steven; three sisters, Florence, Martha and Helen; four brothers, Urpo, Johnny, Lyle and Frankie. He is survived by his partner Stella; a son, Royal Jr., a daughter Kim; two sisters Arlyss and Gloria. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 23rd at 3:00 p.m. at Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave., Duluth, MN, with a visitation one hour prior.
