Obituary of Dennis Robert Hickok

Dennis Hickok was born in Mason City, IA, to the late Elsie and Robert Hickok. From a very early age he lived a life of service volunteering with the ambulance service in Mason City at a young age, to serving as a fireman at the Owatonna Fire Department for 18 years. He also served our country in Vietnam as a platoon leader and was honorably discharged in 1974. Dennis was the owner of Heinz Insurance Agency in Owatonna for many years; he was also an avid golfer and won the City Open Championship several times. More than that he was a warm, compassionate person who loved music and loved to sing even more, and he touched the lives of so many. You’d never see ‘Denny’ without a smile on his face and he will be truly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife,Susan; daughters Holli, Heidi, and Jamie, his brothers Gary Hickok and Mike Lysing, sister Trudy Williams, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. There is no service planned, however, if you would like to honor his memory please donate in his name to your favorite charity.
