David Forsell

Obituary of David William Forsell

David William Forsell, 77, of Ramsey died peacefully at home on May 15th, 2024. He is survived by Angie, his wife of 43 years; children Tim, Jason (Lisa), Gina (Don), and Amy (James); grandchildren Lily, Claire, Sam, Breeanna, Kellan, Casey, and Jesse James; siblings Dale (Deb), Dori (Rich), and Brian (Vicky), nieces, nephews and cousins.

David grew up in south Minneapolis, graduated from Roosevelt High School and earned numerous certifications from Dunwoody. He knew Bill of Bill's Garden personally (but NEVER bragged about it ;) ).  Whip smart with a joke for every occasion, Dave was always a light that people wanted to gather around. He spent his career as a lead machinist at Black Dog power plant where in 1971 he saved the life of a drowning man after a boat explosion in the river running next to the plant.  He was proud of his work at NSP and talked about it often.

David pulled more fish from Minnesota lakes than there are "Oh, darns!" at a Vikings game (he was a loyal fan all his life). He pulled hog northerns through the ice and could filet a crappie with his eyes closed and northerns without a bone left.  His heart was Minnesota-shaped, to be sure.

David freely gave to those in need, even when he had little to spare. He was a proud working-class man whose generosity will continue after death. Part of his estate will go to Sharing and Caring Hands, his favorite charitable organization.

David loved his family, friends, and anything that swims and tastes good deep-fried. He will be greatly missed.

Donations in David's honor may be made to Sharing and Caring Hands.
