Obituary of Evelyn Marxhausen

Evelyn Bertha Irene Marxhausen (née Rengstorf) passed away on May 4, 2024, in Woodbury, Minnesota, at the age of 97. She was born on April 12, 1927, in Courtland, Minnesota.

Evelyn grew up in Courtland, MN where she attended school, finishing her education at DMLC in New Ulm. After marrying Victor she lived in Roseau, MN, Morristown, MN, Hutchinson, MN and White Bear Lake, MN. She worked as an LPN, a hospital chaplain, and a dedicated mom.

Evelyn was a loving individual who enjoyed travel, gardening, sewing, and leading Bible studies. She loved her family and her church. She was also known as an author and poet, as well as a pastor’s wife. She faithfully served her Lord Jesus Christ throughout her life

She is survived by her sons, Tim (Chris Larson) Marxhausen, Jon (Dawn) Marxhausen, daughters, Mary (Mark) Erickson, Martha (Tom) Kaufenberg, brother, Dave (Molly) Rengstorf, 15 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Marxhausen, parents, sister, Marian, brother, Marvin, son-in-law, Randy Schultz, and grandson Joey.

The funeral arrangements are being handled by Cremation Society in St. Paul, Minnesota. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 3 at 11 am with a visitation 2 hours before the service at Grace of God Lutheran Church, 420 Hayward Ave. North, Oakdale, MN 55128. Service will be live-streamed. Memorials preferred to Grace of God.
